Kim's Seng Makgeolli Original

I was so excited to try Kim’s Makgeolli and was thrilled to meet the master brewer during my visit with my husband, who walked us through each flavour. He and his wife are wonderful, kind people, and made us feel extremely welcome. The Makgeolli itself is *gorgeous*. It has a soft, almost fluffy mouthfeel, and the fruit flavours are bold, sweet, and diverse, yet do not take away from the warm rice-wine flavour at the beverage’s base. My favourite flavour is the strawberry but my husband loved the nutty one—but they are all so wonderful, it’s really hard to pick. (It’s also really hard to make a bottle last; they’re incredibly sippable at just 5%.) I know what I will be buying all of my friends this year for any occasion! Thank you, Kim’s Winery — you’ve got a customer for life!

Picked up several bottles. The Kim’s were so knowledgeable and provided samples of the Makgeolli. While all flavors were excellent the Chestnut was amazing! I’m looking forward to many Korean BBQS this summer while sipping this amazing Makgeolli! Oh did I mention I also picked up the bowls, because that somhow enhances the flavour!

Product was good. I liked how there was a slight fizziness to it and it was very refreshing. I think they did a great job incorporating the flavours on top of the traditional makgeolli taste. I live in Mississauga so it was nice that they were able to delivery, but there was no notification before the driver arrived so I guess you have to be available for the entire delivery window. Hoping to see Kim's Makgeolli on LCBO shelves or available at a more local retailer soon!

We just finished the mango version and it's delightful. Love that it's only 5% and very refreshing. Like a beer and wine combined. Very nice when it's cold -- great summer drink. We're looking forward to diving into the rest (June is for strawberries, right?). Get back to you on those! Super new to us, but love exploring different tastes. Lucked out that it's great.

Love the flavours. Chestnut is my fave. Not only is the product amazing but Mrs. Kim was so kind and informative too when I picked up my order. You can tell this family puts a lot of pride and effort into their business and products!

I think Kim’s Makgeolli will be our drink for the summer!
It’s light and refreshing and lightly carbonated making for a perfect light summer drink option.

This is my first time trying makgeolli, and I really enjoyed it! The mango flavour is delicious. I am looking forward to trying the chestnut and original, which are chilling in my fridge. I like that the alcohol percentage of makgeolli is lower than other rice-based wines I’ve tried, and the flavour is much richer. Thank you, Kim family!

I’m so happy I stumbled upon Kim’s Makgeolli! Not only was the makgeolli absolutely delicious, but the owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming. While all the flavors are a must-try, the Classic, Mango, and Strawberry were my personal favorites. It’s a total gem—highly recommend!

Being a "newbie" to the world of Sojus and Makgeollis, I find that the Kim's Makgeolli tastes a little sweeter and has a little less of that unique Makgeolli (rice/nuruk) taste which I like very much personally. The flavoured Makgeollis are quite unique and I really enjoy them. Also, learning that it is a local brewery from the GTA, I would definitely recommend it.

The fresh makgeolli is amazing! So creamy and refreshing. Completely enjoyed it!

Perfect drink for the holiday season. Has a nice chestnut flavour along with a hint of cinnamon. I drink it chilled but makes ya feel warm and fuzzy! Highly recommend!
